Founded in 2016 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Icare is a music group blending black metal, post-metal, and grindcore. Their debut album, « Khaos, » composed and recorded in 2017, was initially intended never to be performed live, as the group’s original purpose was to be a studio-exclusive project. In 2018, the group changed its approach and composed their second album, « Charogne, » with the intention of performing it live. To make the experience as immersive as possible, the entire performance is contained within a single and unique song lasting over 40 minutes. After a few concerts in 2019, Icare was signed to Division Records in early 2020. Fueled by the label’s enthusiasm for their debut album, the group released an enhanced version to eventually perform it live on stage. Once the concerts were concluded, the group then returned to their second album to finalize its production. This album, in collaboration with the label Hummus Records, was released on May 6, 2022.
